Yeah, it's not this commenter, it's extremely widespread. I hit on a lot of it here too:

Everyone shows up online and then feels entitled to scale or to win or for exposure. Um, the whole internet is a cesspool of gladhanders and fakeness. For those of us who are genuine or who just DGAF or who just write poetry, we just do it.

I used to bash Medium in my first run on the platform and then I learned my lesson by looking at myself. They are a company. I appreciate that they have this platform. I use it. They make the rules. If I make $100 or $500, it's gravy. I love to write.
