A Story in Two Parts: Before I Left Medium and After I Came Back
This is the second time I’ve done this. Yes, there’s a backstory. But this is a story in two parts. Part One is from the first time I did it, before I left Medium, and deleted over 300 stories in one fell swoop. Part Two is from today, my second climb up the irrelevant ladder. And although I think a platform following is just a number, there are still lessons to be learned from both parts of my journey.
My original title was the same as it is now, that’s kind of the point. But my original subtitle was, The Meaning Behind the Medium Milestone. And just the title alone gives off a different vibe. It was my first climb and things felt a little brighter. Hence, the cover image below.
What follows in Part One is my original story. It was published on Medium on May 15, 2018 in The Writing Cooperative. But that story was deleted, as were all of my stories when I abandoned the platform in what can only be described as an act of self-care. No edits have been made, even where I really wanted to.
