Problems

A Poem

Horse-drawn meritocracy
Raging beneath
Political discord

Ample platitudes
To delay the inevitable
Timesuck
of conversation

How are you?
I don’t care if you are
good
bad
indifferent
I’m asking because it’s
what
people
do

This diatribe
of overzealous hypocrisy
and banter with no wit

Exceptional duplicity
Singularity a la carte
Rubbing our noses in it
On this Saturday of all days

No one cares
About your problems
Because you don’t care
about
Us
