If we just wrote for one person, we would always be satisfied. The Internet makes it so hard to remember when there are all these dinging bells and counters telling us how popular we are. But any writer knows that one good comment outweighs the bad, but all writers also feel that one bad comment outweighs the good. It may be alchemy, but it is also a conundrum. I love thinking about just that one person.
