Can We Have Just One Thing For Ourselves?
I like celebrities. Well, some of them. But I also have a serious bone to pick with them. Do they have to take over everything that we regular people are doing? Like you are already making eight million dollars for your next film, do you really need to have a cute Instagram, too? Asking for a friend.
Celebrities ruin everything.
I like Instagram. It’s the only social media account I have for myself. I curate it tightly and enjoy following who I follow. Some of those people are celebrities because, um, well, they are there. And often they are really cool. And very, very hot. And interesting. And they hang out with other cool celebrities.
But, wouldn’t it be nicer if we had this playground for ourselves? You know, the common folk. So we could feel solid about our 513 followers instead of comparing ourselves to Jennifer Aniston when she literally broke the app by getting 10 million followers in about a nanosecond.
I mean, seriously, why do celebrities need Instagram? And why do I need to see these baller photos from Cannes and then see all their celebrity friends chiming in on the comments as if they are just like us? As if Kerry Washington commenting “Supes cutes” on Reese Witherspoon’s…
